The Wagoneer S, Jeep's first electric SUV, has been unveiled in the US. All-terrain management is made possible by the standard 4xe capabilities of the brand-new STLA-Large platform, upon which it is built. According to Jeep, STLA-Large is a highly adaptable, BEV-native platform made for sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVs. The new platform is available in 400V and 800V electric designs and can accommodate front-, rear-, or four-wheel drive powertrain configurations. 'BEV-native' as it may be, the platform can even support a hybrid drivetrain. The Wagoneer S's battery parameters are yet unknown, however the STLA-Large offers battery sizes that range from 85 to 118 kWh.
Jeep gave the EV a boxy profile, trapezoidal wheel arches, an LED fog lamp and taillamp, a full-width LED bar at the front and back and an LED-lit seven-slot chrome grille on the outside.
The middle console houses both the driving mode selector and the rotary drive selector. Additionally, there is a special five-mode driving system called Selec-Terrain, which includes snow, sand, eco, sport, and auto. Additional features include a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, a 360-degree video, lane keep assist, heated and cooled seats, a 4-xe terrain management system, and color-selectable ambient lighting.
